The Children's Museum is hosting Small Hands, Big Hearts: Sparking the Spirit of Giving running January 16-30, 2010. From 10am-2pm each day, families can create a placement for Meals on Wheels recipients, make cards for wounded veterans and hospitalized children, bring new socks to donate to the Simpson House and visit with local volunteer organizations about getting involved in the community.
Metro Meals on Wheels has partnered with Doing Good Together to enhance the volunteer experience for families delivering with Meals on Wheels. The Children's Museum event is just one step towards the development of complimentary information and advice for family-friendly volunteering when you deliver a meal!
Staff from MMOW will be at the Children's Museum on Monday, January 18th to answer any questions you may have about volunteering with your kids.

Metro Meals on Wheels now makes it even easier to get involved with the Blizzard Box Blitz! If you can't pack boxes, you can sure spare $10 to sponsor a Blizzard Box and help feed seniors in our communities.
A nutritious diet is important, particularly for seniors, to avoid illness, recover from injury and live longer lives. That’s why Metro Meals on Wheels has partnered with Minnesota’s Nutritious Food Coalition, a statewide effort to increase participation in the state’s Food Support, formerly Food Stamp, program.
