While the majority of Metro's local Meals on Wheels program-members have reported losing few if any volunteers due to rising gas prices, those increasing costs are having a negative effect on recruiting new volunteers. Below are links to recent articles highlighting this issue:

That’s why Metro Meals on Wheels has partnered with Minnesota’s Nutritious Food Coalition, a statewide effort to increase participation in the state’s Food Support, formerly Food Stamp, program.
