On Saturday, September 27th, Open Arms, a member of Metro Meals on Wheels, broke ground for its new facility, to be located in the Phillips neighborhood in Minneapolis. By tripling the kitchen space in the new building, Open Arms will be able to continue to serve the growing number of people facing chronic disease and hunger.

Meals on Wheels Working to Increase Seniors’ Access to Healthy Foods

A nutritious diet is important, particularly for seniors, to avoid illness, recover from injury and live longer lives. That’s why Metro Meals on Wheels has partnered with Minnesota’s Nutritious Food Coalition, a statewide effort to increase participation in the state’s Food Support, formerly Food Stamp, program.
