These are the most commonly asked questions about delivering Meals on Wheels. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 612-623-3363.
What types of volunteering opportunities do you offer?
We recruit volunteers to deliver meals to our clients over their lunch hour during the week. This is where the greatest need is.
However, there are other opportunities to volunteer on boards/committees, with food prep/office work, during special events,
donating your professional skills, or making crafts/cards for clients, etc. We are very flexible and welcome suggestions!
What is the time commitment for volunteering to deliver meals?
As little as 1 hour a month to as often as you like! Volunteer once or schedule a regular day of the week or month to come
in and volunteer.
What does volunteering involve for meal delivery?
Delivering meals involves driving to the program site, picking up 8-10 meals, and delivering them to as many residences.
It takes about an hour, and you can choose a program site near your home or office. The amount you socialize with the clients
is dependent on the volunteer and the client.
When do you need volunteers?
Primarily, Monday through Friday from 11am-1pm. There are other opportunities in the morning or afternoon on Monday through Friday
as well, but this varies to each individual program site.
Can I volunteer with a group?
Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Create a volunteer team at your church, with a social group,
or at work!
How do I sign up to volunteer?
