Legacy Giving

Your will or estate plan is a lasting reflection of your values and priorities. These are important decisions and should be thought through carefully. If you choose to honor Metro Meals on Wheels by including us in your will or estate plan, you'll be leaving a legacy of caring, nourishment and independence for many neighbors in our community.

Two common and relatively simple planned giving options are:

Bequests

In your will or estate plan you can list a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate, that you want to go to a specific person or organization.

Specific language for bequests to Metro Meals on Wheels is as follows:

I [your name] give to Metro Meals on Wheels Inc, 1200 Washington Ave., Suite #380, Minneapolis, MN 55414, EIN #31-1501057,
_________ percent of my estate, or the sum of
_________ dollars, or the remainder of my estate.

Beneficiary Designation
An easy way to include Metro Meals on Wheels in your estate plan is by designating it as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy or your retirement account. Designate Metro Meals on Wheels, Inc., EIN #31-1501057, and contact your insurance agent or financial planner to confirm your plans.

To learn about other planned giving options, contact Patrick Rowan, Executive Director, at 612-623-3363 or via email. A planned gift through your estate is a powerful way to impact your community and leave a positive effect for generations to come. MMOW recommends consulting your personal tax adviser, or our office, for additional information.

One other way you can support Metro Meals on Wheels, and encourage others to do so as well, is by informing your family that, upon your death, you would like memorials directed to Metro Meals on Wheels.
